Sydney Observatory offers day and night birthday experiences ideal for children turning 7 to 12. With our astronomers you will experience the 3-D space theatre and then look through telescopes. During the day view solar objects or by night the stars and planets. Afterwards, have a picnic in the Observatory grounds or visit one of the many restaurants and cafes close by at the Rocks.

Total duration 1 hour
Two optional 3D programs:
Program A: Elysium 7 (voyage to Mars) + solar system interactive
Program B: After stars (black holes and pulsars) + solar system interactive
The 3D space theatre is followed by telescope viewing or, in wet weather, a combination of exhibition tour and planetarium. Early evening viewing times can include viewing of planets depending on the time of year.
Saturday and Sunday mornings: 10.00am–11.00am
For 20 or less (includes at least 2 adults and children) $150 (PHM members $120).
For 21 to 40 (includes at least 4 adults and children) $250 (PHM members $220).
Extra adults are at usual prices.
Saturday evening: 5.00pm–6.00pm (winter)/ 7.15pm–8.15pm (summer)
For 20 or less (includes at least 2 adults and children) $220 (PHM members $190).
For 21 to 40 (includes at least 4 adults and children) $440 (PHM members $410).

Conditions
- Catering, catering facilities and furniture are not included in this package.
- Sydney Observatory grounds are suitable for picnics of up to one hour's duration, however the grounds are also open to other visitors, so the space may need to be shared.
- Children should not have their party food until after visiting Sydney Observatory.
- Arrival and gathering must occur prior to entry to the Museum and if the party starts late, it will still finish at the stated time and will not run over - ie only a 3D space theatre program will be offered if the start is too late to do the full program.
- There must be 1 adult per 10 children. It is the responsibility of the adults to control all children's behaviour.
- For the health and safety of all our visitors, alcohol, temporary structures and playing of ball games are not permitted in Sydney Observatory grounds.
Bookings
Pre-bookings are essential, and full payment is required at the time of booking.
Cancellation
The program is not weather dependant. Refunds and transfers will be provided with notification by phone or fax at least 48 hours prior to the event.
