Sydney Observatory
June 12th 1874

Sir

I have the honor to request that two new Iron tanks may be put up at the Observatory over a portion of the roof.

By the change new being made in the large telescope room the present water tank will require removal, and a larger supply provided for the use of the new telescope and by having it on the roof as suggested a supply of water will always be at hand in case of fire and in such a position as will with a moderate length of hose command the whole or greater portion of the building.

I have the honor to be
Sir
Your Obedient Servant
