NIGHT VISIT

The quintessential way to visit Sydney Observatory
Open every night except Christmas and Good Friday

View the stars and planets through our telescopes (weather permitting), as well as learn about the universe, experience our 3-D space theatre and view the historic astronomical and meteorological objects on display. There is also plenty of opportunity to ask questions of the experienced and friendly astronomy educator who will guide the session.

Evening sessions of about one and a half hours are offered seven days a week throughout the year (except Christmas and Good Friday), and are held regardless of weather. If viewing through the telescopes is not possible due to sky conditions, a fun beanbag planetarium session is provided instead. Night sessions must be pre-booked. Telephone bookings for night sessions close at 5pm.

Payment for night tickets is not refundable. Bookings may be transferred to another night - but only by telephoning on (02) 9921 3485 by noon on the day you are scheduled to attend. We can either transfer your booking to another available night or offer you a 'rain check' ticket (valid for three months) to the same value as your original booking.
