View and image the night sky in New Mexico USA during the day from Sydney Australia!

View and photograph clear night skies during the day using Remote Control Astronomy. This is an opportunity for students to view the northern hemisphere skies using a telescope mounted on Mt Joy in the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico, USA. View and take digital images of nebulae, other galaxies and clusters using a research quality telescope via the Internet. Take away the images on a CD or USB drives. The students can then study and conduct research with these images. Full assistance is provided and it is a great opportunity to conduct your own research program with our astronomers.

This is a two-hour session suitable for secondary school students, ideal viewing times are 2pm - 3pm, 3pm - 4pm or 5pm - 6pm. Cost $150 per session. Ideal group size is 15. Students are advised to bring their own USB drives or discs to take their images back to the classroom for further project work. The second hour utilises the 3-D space theatre and Sydney Observatory's telescopes, weather permitting.
