Daily cosmobite: Venus and a star
The planet Venus is visible each evening in the western sky shining brightly. Over the next few months it will become even brighter as its path around the Sun brings it closer to Earth. Tonight Venus passes at a separation of only about three moon-widths from the star Spica, the brightest star in the constellation of Virgo the Maiden.
